City of Belmont offices closed

Last week the City of Belmont issued a statement on its facebook page with the following information.

All city offices are closed to the public at this time.

Staff that is able to work remotely will be doing so in order to use social distancing in our offices.  The water department will still be processing payments, new water service applications, and water terminations. If you need assistance call 704-825-5586.

The online payment processing fee will temporarily be waived starting March 18, 2020. Water accounts will not be cut off for non-payment at this time. We will still be charging late fees, so to avoid any additional fees please pay your bill on time or call water department to discuss setting up an installment plan. If able, all advisory board and committee meetings will be canceled or held electronically until further notice. 

Athletic programming has been suspended until further notice. Please note we have not canceled any spring athletics at this time.

Parks and recreation programming, classes, and trips are suspended until further notice.

Park rentals are suspended at this time. Staff will be in contact with anyone that had a park reservation to process deposit refunds. 

Public works staff will be thoroughly cleaning all city park playground equipment and public restrooms twice daily.
